We always enjoy providing updates on our much-anticipated new developments, and we’ve been inundated with queries about how Southshore – our hidden gem in Cornwall’s lesser-known Seaton – is progressing.
The development is progressing well. It is a difficult site, carved into the hillside, with both the rock strata having to be excavated as well as site logistics such as access and positioning of heavy plant lifting equipment, required for the large amount of structural steel support. Plots 4 to 7 are all currently at various stages of construction ranging from the substantial retaining walls and slabs that are being cast to the first building structure frames being installed.
The system is a panelised timber frame offering a fast, modular type construction with doors and windows pre-fitted and fully insulated providing a very low energy rated house. Once the panels are fitted they will be ready for the exterior facades and finishing cladding, which range from a number of natural finishes including timber cladding and stone as well as decorative metal.
As the development moves forward, features such as green roofs will be installed providing an eco-friendly look, sympathetic to the landscape, as well as impressive tiled balconies to provide endless alfresco opportunities, sea breezes and views over the adjoining surrounds. And for when the Cornish winter bites, heating systems are being offered as energy-efficient, air-sourced units with underfloor heating to all internal floors.
Southshore is a luxury new build development in Cornwall’s Seaton, nestled in amongst the wild landscapes between Looe and Portwrinkle and offers seclusion from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nearby, Seaton Valley Countryside Park is the first nature reserve in Cornwall to receive a green flag. Awarded in 2005, this recognises the area as one of the best green spaces in the country, all just a few minutes walk from our new luxury development and the calm and sheltered beachfront.
Whether you’re looking for an investment property or to relocate down to the South West permanently, Southshore offers high-end living in one of Cornwall’s lesser-known spots. To register interest in Southshore or any of our other properties, contact a member of the Stephens + Stephens team today.
