The development is progressing well. It is a difficult site, carved into the hillside, with both the rock strata having to be excavated as well as site logistics such as access and positioning of heavy plant lifting equipment, required for the large amount of structural steel support. Plots 4 to 7 are all currently at various stages of construction ranging from the substantial retaining walls and slabs that are being cast to the first building structure frames being installed.

The system is a panelised timber frame offering a fast, modular type construction with doors and windows pre-fitted and fully insulated providing a very low energy rated house. Once the panels are fitted they will be ready for the exterior facades and finishing cladding, which range from a number of natural finishes including timber cladding and stone as well as decorative metal.

As the development moves forward, features such as green roofs will be installed providing an eco-friendly look, sympathetic to the landscape, as well as impressive tiled balconies to provide endless alfresco opportunities, sea breezes and views over the adjoining surrounds. And for when the Cornish winter bites, heating systems are being offered as energy-efficient, air-sourced units with underfloor heating to all internal floors.
