Construction Operations Manager
Job Types: Full-time
Salary: Highly Competitive
Location: Truro, Cornwall but with travel to sites around Cornwall
Hours: 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Stephens & Stephens Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Operations Manager to join an exciting business.
This role will oversee operational aspects of our construction sites working closely with our head office based construction team and site construction teams, while reporting into our directors.
You will act as the driving force behind efficient operation of our construction sites including utilization of plant and labour, comprehensive regulatory and health & safety compliance, and meticulous record keeping and reporting.
This role will suit a candidate who has previously worked in a similar role at a homebuilder or residential developer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fully understand all aspects of our construction projects in order to:
- Ensure all appropriate contracts, licenses and permits are in place
- Identify potential risks and implement solutions
- Produce construction programs and report progress against them
- Produce any other required reporting (ie contractor reports)
- Maintain health & safety compliance across our construction sites
- Apply for and renew construction related licenses and permissions
- Manage our portfolio of construction equipment including allocation to sites, tracking usage and managing maintenance
- Manage our contractors including allocation to sites, tracking utilization and managing training
- Apply for and renew insurance policies including buildings, public/professional/employers liability, construction, and fleet
- Implementation of structural warranties for projects
- Facilitate key operational meetings (site planning meetings, weekly operational meetings)
- Work with key partners such as regulatory bodies, local council and parishes, solicitors, and PR firms where necessary

Skills/Experience Required:
- A minimum of 5 year’s experience in a similar role
- Applying for all licenses and permits required for UK construction
- Risk assessment and method statement preparation and monitoring
- Experience of dealing with multiple construction projects (4-10 projects)
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other MS Office packages
- Experience using Sage 50 or Sage 200 or similar accounting software
