A Hidden Gem

Recently, we’ve taken our signature Stephens + Stephens approach to Seaton. And no, that’s not the one in Devon; Cornwall’s Seaton, though less well known, is a charming village just around the corner from Looe. Its understated nature represents a large part of its attraction, as it remains separate from the hustle and bustle of Cornwall’s tourist hotspots.

Situated in the appropriately dubbed ‘forgotten corner’, the hidden gem that is Seaton is just five miles east of popular visitor destination and historic harbourside town, Looe, and not too far from the bright lights of Plymouth either. From this quieter south coastline, the A38 links Seaton to the rest of Cornwall, although many find that they’d rather not leave once they’ve arrived. A small, perfectly formed charming village surrounded by rolling countryside and pristine coastline, it’s also home to one of only four country parks in Cornwall, Seaton Valley Countryside Park, the first nature reserve in the region to receive a green flag.

Why Seaton?

Seaton is renowned for its sedate, sheltered waters, stunning and wild landscapes, and an abundance of potential when it comes to leisure. The waters tend to be favourable for those keen on sailing, swimming, and paddleboarding. Add to that just about any other water or land-based recreational fun, and you’re covered.

And now, brand new for spring 2023, Southshore provides the ultimate opportunity for escapism as well as a new level of luxury …

This is modern coastal living at its finest; elemental yet glamorous, simplistic yet detail driven, with interior masterminded by multi-award-winning design agency, Absolute.

On the doorstep of God’s county, Seaton really is the gateway to many of the UK’s most beautiful spots. It sits on the border of Cornwall, and is often described as a gateway to the county. But it is much, much more than just a gateway location; it also boasts its own attractions in the form of stunning countryside and an immaculate, sandy beach.

Seaton may not be a headliner, but it is undoubtedly one of the region’s hidden gems. And who doesn’t love a hidden gem? With a bit of everything either on your doorstep or a short drive away, you will have lifestyle options to burn.
